Sri Yaganti Uma Maheshwara Temple

Sri Yaganti Uma Maheshwara Temple

Yaganti Temple which is also most popularly known as Sri Yaganti Uma Maheswara Temple is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, and, it is located in Nandyal district of Andhra Pradesh. This temple was constructed by King  of the Sangama Dynasty of the Vijayanagara Empire during 15th century AD. This temple was first planned to be constructed as a Vishnu Temple, but, however, as per the wishes of Lord Shiva, this temple began to be constructed as a Shiva Temple.

At the present place of this temple, once Lord Shiva appeared before his staunch devotee Chitteppa in the form of a tiger. And there is also a cave called as Chitteppa is located nearby this temple. At Sri Yaganti Uma Maheswara Temple, every year Maha Shivaratri is being celebrated wonderfully, and large number of devotees from all over Andhra Pradesh used to visit. Here ShivaParvati and Nandi are the main deities in this temple. This temple is few kms far away from Banaganipalli in kurnool dt. The most famous Shaivite Saint Sri Veerabrahmendra swami stayed here for some time and wrote the famous work Kalagnanam. The great sage Agasthya bathed in the sacred temple pond Pushkarini and worshipped Shiva. Lord Shiva has also had given his darshan as ‘ARDHANAREESWARA FORM’ to the great sage Agastya and blessed him. Lord Murugan had visited this present site and taught Tamil language and various poems to Rishi Agastya. In some ancient Tamil Shaivite Texts, this holy temple was mentioned. Those who want to get the blessings of our Divine mother and Divine father, must surely visit this temple, in order to get the entire grace of Shiva and Parvati.

I am hereby given about the importance of reading spiritual books and spiritual articles in order to get spiritual realisation, spiritual refreshment, spiritual sweetness, spiritual madness and of course for attaining spiritual liberation!

Spiritual books must be read by everybody, irrespective of their age! Sometimes reading big, big spiritual books would give us tiredness, and hence, during that time, we could start reading small, small spiritual articles from the spiritual websites. Reading spiritual books is an easy way of expressing our bhakti from our home itself, and we cannot find any strain in reading books. It is much easier than that of listening to Upanyasam, visiting temples and watching spiritual videos. Within a few hours, we could read an entire book like Srimad Bhagavatham, Bhagavat Gita and Ramayana, and we could get great Punya in doing that good act!

We can gift spiritual books to libraries, schools and to public charitable institutions like Mental Homes, Institutes for physically challenged people, Old aged homes and orphanages. We can also take some spiritual books along with us, and visit old aged homes and other charitable institutions, and we can recite the verses from our Hindu Holy Books to the people who stay in those institutions.

As per the famous saying of Swami Vivekananda, “Hey You Young Blood, Arise, Awake and develop the reading habit until your death”. Likewise, people, especially the younger generation must develop lot of reading habit from their young age onwards! They can read general books as well as spiritual books, but I strongly insist the younger generation to read more and more spiritual books, and they could also read the online spiritual magazines in order to develop strong bondage with the god.

But most of the youngsters are interested to read only about entertainment, sports, cinema and general topics, and they used to view the spiritual details only occasionally! Readers must motivate Spiritual writers like me, by putting either positive or even negative comments on the comments box, so that the way of writing and the standard of writing can be improved. Some readers are of the opinion that I always use simple English in my writings. I am doing like that, since I want to pass on my spiritual messages, even to those who are dull in English. Using high level standard of English would make some readers even to neglect the articles. Some readers also might think, “Is this writer is a big English professor”!

The main reason for writing spiritual articles is, even after my death, my Articles would be still “ALIVE”, and that’s why I want to write articles even from my death bed! My main aim is to make the readers to read my articles without getting bored, and that’s why, most of my articles, would contain only of 2 to 3 pages.

Few years back, when I was in my Chennai Home, one day, an elderly couple who were residing nearby my home, visited my home, and they suddenly fell down on my feet and sought my blessings! On seeing their act, I was very much astonished and asked them to get up, and also asked them the reason for falling at my feet. They have given their answer in a simple sentence, “You are a Spiritual Writer! At that time only, I have realised the significance of my spiritual writing work! I also strongly believe that my spiritual writings would be read and liked even by the great saints, saviours, sages, gods and goddesses, and after finishing my writing work, usually I used to go through the Deities pictures which are affixed on the top of my computer table, in order to watch their big smile, and I used to ask them, are you really satisfied with my writing work?

If Suggestions and appreciations are given by the readers, then that would motivate the Spiritual Writers, and they would be able to keep continuing their writing habit without leaving any gap. But nowadays even the elderly people are interested to watch mainly the YouTube Videos, since they are of the opinion, that a Spiritual Video could speak a lot, rather than reading the messages from the Online Spiritual Magazines!

Hence, let me request the people to read more and more spiritual messages from Spiritual Online Magazines, and let us spread the sweetness of “SPIRITUALISM” throughout the universe!
